Why Doesn’t Pain Management Work Better?

I was having a conversation with some marketing experts when the subject turned to back pain. It seems he has been suffering for almost 10 years and unfortunately that comes with being dropped into the world of pain management.

Of course he’s seen the doctors, surgeons, chiropractors, physical therapists and many of the alternative approaches. He also boasts a 6 pack stomach from all the exercises that he was told to do to strengthen his core.

Here’s the take-away:

Pain Management can almost never work.

Pain Management can’t provide more than temporary relief.

Pain Management is by definition managing pain symptoms.

The reason pain management can’t work is because the old-school medical approach and just about every alternative approach manages symptoms as if they are caused by structural abnormalities such as:

Bulging disc, herniated disc, spinal stenosis, sciatica, degenerative disc disease. We’ll talk about fibromyalgia and other made-up diagnoses later.

Scientific studies show that these abnormalities almost never cause pain.

Almost Never.

2 of 3 people that have never had pain have bulging discs or herniated discs.

So there is almost zero chance that they are causing your pain.

Here’s to your pain free life

With Love

Adam
